With H-RERA Gurugram facing challenges in enforcing its recovery orders, builders owe Rs 800 crore of dues to homebuyers.
The Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (H-RERA) Gurugram had issued 1190 recovery certificates to reclaim Rs 1043 crore owed to homebuyers by defaulting builders. However, only Rs 225 crore has been recovered so far in 261 cases. Most pending recoveries are on account of well known developers Much to the dismay of homebuyers , the builders, despite legal orders ,continue to flout compliance. So much so that some builders owe as much as Rs 100 crore and even arrest warrants are pending against them.
What is a matter of concern for the H-RERA Gurugram is that despite the appointment of an adjudicating officer, the execution of RERA orders for recovery of dues from builders ,has been painfully slow. Out of a total Rs 223 crore of recovery made by the RERA, only Rs 49 crore of recovery was made through the efforts of the adjudicating officer.
