NAREDCO appoints Alok Gupta as the New Director General

National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), an apex real estate body , has appointed  Alok Gupta as the New Director General (DG) of the association.

Mr Gupta has taken over the charge of NAREDCO from February 1, 2022. Prior to taking over as Director General of NAREDCO, he was serving as a Group ‘A’ Civil Service officer and retired as SADG (equivalent to Additional Secretary, Govt. of India) in June 2020 from the  Ministry of Defence. Alok Gupta in his career spanning over 33 years with the central government, has worked in different capacities across India, lending his expertise in Defence Lands Management. He has successfully defended government’s. interests in various land matters in courts. He  also worked as CEO in municipal bodies of defence ministry and aided in matters connected with town planning, preparation of zonal plans  of local bodies.

In his new role as Director General, NAREDCO, he  will be   working closely with government departments ,towards a robust realty sector.

Pepperfry Appoints Naveen Murali as VP & Head Marketing

Furniture and home products marketplace, Pepperfry has appointed Naveen Murali as the Vice President and Head of Marketing . Murali, holding a degree in engineering and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode , comes with a decade of experience in marketing, sales and building business competencies. Prior to joining Pepperfry, he was associated with brands like Asian Paints and Oracle across business and marketing roles.

In his new role , Naveen will lead Pepperfry’s marketing and brand strategies with an aim to drive brand awareness across lucrative untapped markets as well as capture share in the furniture and home decor industry.

Ravi Mittal to be the New Chairman of IBBI

Former sports secretary Ravi Mittal will take over as the chairman of the insolvency regulator, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI).

A 1986 -batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, he had also worked as the secretary in the Department of Information & Broadcasting and as the special secretary in the department of financial services. Mittal will succeed MS Sahoo, the first chairman of the IBBI who retired on September 30,2021 after completing a five year term. Since then, Navrang Saini, a whole time member of the IBBI, has been holding additional charge as the Chairman. Mittal will join IBBI on March 5 when Mr Saini relinquishes his charge.

Insomniacs Appoints Prashant Tyagi as Vice President-NCR

India’s leading real estate data analytics and technology network, Insomniacs, has on-boarded Prashant Tyagi  as vice president for their NCR chapter. The appointment is in line with their pan-India expansion strategy.

Previous to this appointment, Prashant spent over 12 years in real estate as part of multiple marquee realtors including DLF, M3M, besides global property consultant Colliers International. In his new role, Prashant will build robust synergies with the local real estate  community.

Colliers Strengthens its Leadership Team 

Colliers has hired India Research Head and two senior industry leaders to strengthen India capability. The three senior directors join Colliers to give the consultancy firm an edge over competition in research, occupier consulting and office transactions.

Vimal Nadar ,an industry expert with over 14 years of experience , joins Colliers from JLL as Senior Director and Head Research, India.Prior to JLL, Nadar spent time with Cushman & wakefield and CRISIL. In his career in real estate, Nadar has led leadership initiatives for different stakeholders including occupiers, developers and investors.He has also led bespoke research for prominent clients.In his new role, Nadar will collaborate with leaders across India and APAC to make Colliers a market leader.

Avinash Kavarana has been appointed as Senior Director & Head Occupier Consulting and Digital Initiatives, Office Services, India. Previously with JLL, Arshish led the Occupier Consulting Group. In this capacity, he was responsible for portfolio strategy, optimization, location advisory, employee engagement and implementing the future of work for key global occupiers. He has advised CEOs/CXOs on integrating their real estate and business outcomes.

Neha Yadav has rejoined Colliers from JLL as Senior Director,Office Services, Mumbai. She will strategically focus on increasing market share for the firm through client acquisition and innovation.She will actively contribute towards client engagement and CRM initiatives across major tenants.
