Round Table on DDA’s Proposed Mega Development

A round table conference of stakeholders  was recently organised in New Delhi  to deliberate and seek suggestions for the planned development of  a proposed 195 acres of prime vacant  land   in Dwarka near IGIA, Delhi.

The conference organised by Black Olive Ventures and Arcop, and supported by Delhi Development Authority(DDA) was meant to invite suggestions from stakeholders about the land use of 195 acres of land spread across 4 different sites. The existing land use of these sites as per the Draft Master Plan 2041 is commercial. Site A is surrounded by an upcoming golf course and a diplomatic enclave. Site B has large swaths of land marked as green  area behind it and has a diplomatic enclave and golf course across the UER 2 road, from the site. Site C is fragmental with 6 different land parcels. On its backside is a large EEC project. Site D , nearest to IGIA, is the biggest with UER and Dwarka Expressway on its two sides.

The conference deliberated on the possible land use for residential, commercial, mix of residential ,commercial , industrial and warehousing purposes. The discussions centred around what should be the best way for the disposition of the project sites – auction or tender with revenue share under PPP model.The stakeholders’ suggestions were also sought  with regard to DDA’s role for successful  integrated development .

The key participants in the conference included Leenu Sahgal, Commissioner Planning, DDA, Manoj Gaur, Chairman, Credai NCR, S K Sayal, CEO Bharti Airtel, Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder Signature Global and Chairman, Assocham National Council on Real Estate, Housing and Infrastructure, Aman Kapoor, CEO, GMR airports, Gaurav Jain, MD, Samyak Developments, Ashok Choudhary, VP, Brookfield India, besides representatives of DLF, Emaar and others. Sunil Aggarwal, MD, Black Olive Ventures and Sanjay Singh, Director, ARCOP steered the conference.
