Board Level Appointments at WeWork India

WeWork India, a leading flexible workspace provider has made key board level appointments. Manoj Kohli, former Country Head, of Softbank India, Softbank Group International, has been appointed as an Independent Director to the WeWork India Board. Anthony Yazbeck, President & Chief Operating Officer, WeWork Inc. also joins the board.

A seasoned industry expert with over 43 years of global work experience across industries, including manufacturing, telecom, renewable energy, and digital sectors, Manoj’s appointment strategically aligns with WeWork India’s vision of focusing on long term growth and scaling a business in the wake of the new world.

 In his previous role as the Country Head of Softbank, Manoj supported the SoftBank Group and Vision Fund in investing $15bn in over 25 AI-focused portfolio companies in India. He has also aided entrepreneurs and CEOs of key players in scaling their businesses and ensuring effective execution of profitable growth strategy. Manoj has previously served on the board of GSMA, held the position of Chairman of the CII Task Force on Ease of Doing Business, and is currently serving as the Chair of the CII Unicorn Forum for attracting new tech investments in India. He has worked extensively in the US, Europe, China, and Japan and built businesses in 25 countries in Asia Pacific and Africa. Manoj’s appointment will bolster the company’s vision to sustain the growth momentum.

Along with Manoj,  Anthony Yazbeck President & Chief Operating Officer,  WeWork Inc. has also joined  as a board member. Having served in his current role since 2021, Anthony previously served as WeWork’s President & Chief Operating Officer, International and WeWork’s Chief Operating Officer of Europe, China & Pacific for five years where he played a key role in scaling the European business and leading the transformation of the Company’s operations in China.

Credai Appointments for Youth & Women Wings

Credai, the apex body of real estate developers in India, has made new appointments for its youth and women wings. The new team for Credai Women’s Wing for 2023-25, include Rupa Shah, Convenor, Sarah Jacob, Secretary and Sapna Rathi , Joint Secretary.

For Credai Youth Wing, Nithish Reddy has been made Convenor while Binitha Dalal and Nilesh Vora have been appointed as Co-Convenor and Secretary respectively. Gaurav Thakke

r has been designated as the Chairman for both Youth and Women’s Wing of Credai.

Akshay Tanna to Join KKR as PE Business Head

Akshay Tanna, a partner at TPG, is joining KKR & Co as a partner and head of its private equity business.  Tanna will be handling the entire spectrum of buyouts, control transactions, growth equity and even impact investments across sectors at the American private equity major. He will be reporting to Gaurav Trehan, KKR’s India Country Head.

Tanna, a Wharton School alumnus, was a former investment banker with Merrill Lynch and Deutche Bank before joining TPG where he spent over a decade.

Aravind Maiya Appointed CEO of Embassy REIT

Embassy Office Parks REIT, India’s first listed REIT, has appointed Aravind Maiya as chief executive officer of Embassy REIT with effect from July 1 2023. Maiya will be replacing Vikaash Khdloya who will step down on June 30 2023 to pursue other interests.  He will assume the role of senior advisor to the REIT until the end of this year.  Khdloya and Maiya will work together closely to ensure smooth transition.

As a new CEO, Maiya has a cut out task to create long term value for all the stake holders of Embassy REIT.

Tribeca Appoints Somendra Sarwal as New Business Development Head 

Tribeca Developers known for developing Trump Towers in India, have appointed Somendra Sarwal as Head of Business Development.

Sarwal brings over 19 years of across capital markets, land advisory, lending, structured financeand private equity businesses. He has advised in excess of USD 680 million on capital raising, land and project sales transactions during his association with Knight Frank, Cushman & wakefield, Colliers International, ICICI Bank and others. Across his career, Sarwal has deployed and managed an AUM of USD 440 million discretionary and non-discretionary investments of large and mid-corporate treasuries across asset classes.
